Use case
Translate customer-facing PDFs without promising “instant perfect localization”
Shipped PDFs are often the contract between your product and the customer—datasheets, onboarding packs, and policy summaries. DocTranslate queues each file as an async job: pick languages, spend one credit per page when the job is accepted, then download from My documents when processing completes.
Examples: Typical files: localized quick-start PDFs, multilingual safety sheets, partner-facing spec packs, and help-center articles exported as PDF for offline reading.
One credit per PDF page · Jobs run asynchronously (not instant) · New accounts include three free credits
Why this workflow fits this PDF type
Credits map to pages
Estimating cost is straightforward: page count drives credits, so finance and support teams can budget releases without guessing token usage.
Async operations
Large customer PDFs should not block a browser tab. The dashboard tracks queued → processing → completed states, including realtime updates when configured.
Stripe-backed top-ups
When volume grows, signed-in users buy credit bundles through Stripe Checkout; credits land after payment confirmation via webhook.
Customer-facing PDF limitations
- Brand tone and regulatory nuance still need human review for high-stakes content.
- Embedded fonts and subsetting can affect glyph coverage—spot-check typography before wide distribution.
- DocTranslate does not auto-publish to your website or app stores; download and deploy through your own release process.

FAQ
Answers scoped to this document type—not generic marketing claims.
Is this the same as a full localization program?
No. DocTranslate focuses on PDF translation jobs from the dashboard. Translation memory, CMS workflows, and legal sign-off are still your team’s process.
Can I run the same PDF in multiple languages?
Yes—start a separate job per target language. Each run is billed on its own page count when the job is accepted.
Will images of UI screenshots translate?
Raster screenshots do not receive OCR-style rewriting of embedded pixels. Prefer text-based PDFs when wording inside screenshots must change.
